Gateway Netbook Lt2802u

Gateway Netbook Lt2802u

Contrary to what others may believe, I think Gateways are very reliable computers. I have both a Gateway laptop and a netbook (same model you're considering actually, recently upgraded), and both have served me well for many years.I would recommend the netbook, but make sure it serves your needs. I don't know if you're planning on using it as a daily computer or just for travel. That's something to consider, as netbooks don't have all the features of a full laptop. They are smaller and great for internet browsing, messaging, and work on the go, but they often have less memory and battery time (due to their size) than their larger counterparts. This netbook also lacks a CD drive. Some things can just be downloaded from the internet, so this drawback might not affect you as much (again, depending on what your plans for it are).Otherwise, this computer is easy to type on, has a clear display, and is reasonably priced. It's lightweight, and slim as well. I got mine at BestBuy, so it's avalible in stores (some Gateway models are remarkably difficult to find). can't comment on that exact model. However, my experience with Gateway is that their build quality tends to be a little on the cheap side. They are prone to easily broken hinges, cracks in the plastic, etc. If you are planning to use it at home and not travel too much with it the you should be ok. It is also possible that the newer models have been improved as far as ruggedness goes.
