Aspire One Battery

Aspire One Battery

happy with the standard 3 or 6 cell batteries that come with most Acer Aspire One netbooks? You can find a variety of 9 cell batteries on eBay. These third party batteries have prices ranging from around $58 to $80. It’s worth noting that third party batteries can be hit or miss. Some people have purchased similar batteries and found that they run down quickly or have other defects. But they’re also generally cheaper than anything you can find from the computer manufacturer — and Acer doesn’t even make a 9 cell battery. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a decent quality battery that can provide a serious boost in battery life. One member of the Netbook News.de forums picked up a 9 cell Aspire One Battery from Amazon and posted an extensive review. He reports that it lasted for almost 9 hours under regular use. It was good for about 6 hours of DVD playback. The only down side is that the battery is significantly larger and heavier than the standard Aspire One battery. Check out the picture after the break to see just how much bigger. The battery shipped with about a 30% charge and they recommend a full overnight charge the first time. Once fully charged, I put it to the test. I have a wireless USB mouse, an external Seagate 250 GB (USB powered) hard drive, Wi-Fi turned on, and screen intensity set to a medium brightness.
