Gateway 10.1 Netbook

Gateway 10.1 Netbook

Gateway's LT2119u is a close cousin to the Acer Aspire One 532h netbook which is no big surprise. These means they share much of the same design and features. Battery life is above average but not class leading and the keyboard has both good and design aspects. It does use a larger hard drive and comes in a different color scheme but the Acer model can be found for less making the choice of the Gateway LT2119u more for looks Gateway's LT2119u uses the new Intel PineTrail platform with its combined processor and graphics engine. The new Atom N450 processor doesn't provide much of a performance boost over the previous generation N270 but some programs do see slight gains. Performance is still heavily limited by the 1GB of memory that is imposed by the Windows 7 netbook licensing. The hard drive on the LT2119u uses a larger 250GB hard drive compared to the previous generation of netbooks with their 160GB drives. This is one of the advantages of the new Windows 7 netbook licensing terms that will help people who need to store more data. The downside is that it does increase the base cost of the netbooks from the previous generation.
